July 15, 2010dosent this seem like a slap in the face of all the innocent people killed on 9-11?any comments?should this topic be in religion forum?lotta questions
July 15, 2010In my opinion the only thing that should go there is another two buildings reminiscent of what was destroyed only better with plaques in the lobbies honoring those that died. Show `em we will not be defeated.
As far as Mosques go........ no different then any other religious building, allow one..... allow all.
July 15, 20109-11 was a slap in the face to all peace loving Muslims.
July 15, 2010the problem is that a musilms definition of peace is slightly different than ours...
with islam being the most populous religion in the world, you`d think we would hear more condemnation of violence from these peaceful people...
instead, we get death threats and riots over books and cartoons...
a co-workers wife just returned from Afghanistan shooting a documentary about life there. part of the documentary covers how terrorists are gang (r a p i n g ) young girls over there and telling them the only way to regain their families honor is to become a suicide bomber....
yeah, peacful religion....
July 15, 2010Kinda reminds ya of the Crusades huh!
We all know the vociferous few absolutely speak for the many.
I am curious if the factions in Africa responsible for the ethnic cleansing and all the atrocities were in fact Muslim.
July 15, 2010somebody may as well build something there....
personally, I`d have liked to have seen us `dust-off` the original WTC plans, update them for currenty codes and be celebrating the 3rd year of their re-dedication by now!
July 15, 2010I will just Quote the First Amendment of the United States Constitution
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
It does not say what religion either.
July 15, 2010they (muslims, radical or not)knocked down the buildings out of hatred toward american existence, doesnt it seem kind of funny that they (muslims radical or not) want to occupy that very ground where a large symbol of the american existence was and install there own symbol. the imam (preist or leader of the mosque) is a supporter of hezbollah and other terrorist groups.
i am of the same frame of mind as sixer, not all muslims are terrorist but the ones that really are peace loving wont turn on the others. that makes them accessories, and just as guilty if they were privy to info on the attacks.that is just one crazy peace and america loving persons opinion.
i never said congress should intervene but like rr stated it should be reserved for the rebuilding of either a monument(to remember the fallen innocent lives) or the new towers
July 16, 2010The Area where the are putting the Mosque is 2 blocks away, although the Landing gear did land on the building.
July 16, 2010That is like saying that ALL Christians should be banned from building churches because terrorist use the bible to justify bombing abortion clinics and killing doctors.
It wasn`t the entire Muslim religion that bombed the wtc. It was a bunch of fanatical extremist. 19 of which were Saudis yet we are still very much allied with Saudi Arabia.
July 16, 2010Well, since some of you think that mosques are no different than Christian churches, you need to read this link. Mosques are a symbol of domination and should never ever be built on that site. Too much political correctness bs in this country.
