it was such a good deal,
that I dont know if I should say how much I paid.
Your price might vary.
lets just say that it was cheaper than my quotes from aamco, cres-o-matic or for a ford reman.
Not to mention that he is about 40 miles from dirt bike heaven. So he can typically have you out by 4:30pm which gives you time to play out in the ocotillo wells svra. so the ride out to see him really isnt all that bad at all. It was actually pretty good.
I didnt stay and watch him do his job, I had enterprise pick me up, and when I made it back in my rental kia sphinctra about 45 minutes later, my tranny was out and being disassembled on his bench. After a few words and some of his humor I left and had breakfast at one of his recomended spots. I then cruised out to the YUMA prison for some pictures and to the colorado river for a cool dip. The prison people seemed to want to kick me out for ringing their bell, repeatedly. good times...
After killing a little more time by driving around close to the border on the lookout for Illegals vs. the migra I had some lunch at golden corral. When I made it back to his shop at about 4:30 he was done with it, and I was on my way. he is so knowledgable and proffesional, I figured Id just get out of his way and let him do his thing. He told me exactly what was wrong with my truck and he was right on with his assesment. He had the tranny pulled and apart on a bench within an hour. He showed me the open ended snap ring, the loose bolts, and you could smell how burnt the clutch plates were. I could have stayed and watched it all, but what would`ve been the point. Everytrhing that he told me over the phone unfolded before my very eyes.
He also told me of a couple of things that I need to do to my truck in the near future. such as trac bars and a couple of other doodads.
I trust him, and thats hard to come by these days.
everytime I drive my truck, it keeps getting better and better.
So far, Im very pleased with his work, and my truck.
