July 29, 2009ok i have a 1995 f250, 5.8, fuel injected, standard truck. it sat for 2 years before i bought it so i knew it would need some work....i have now replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, battery and battery cables, thermostat, and water pump, spark plugs, spark plug cables, distributor cap and rotor, oil filter and fluids....but the truck STILL isnt running correctly...when i press the gas peddle....it just tries to die...i dont know if the engine is being flooded or if its not getting ENOUGH fuel..or WAT the problem is.... also when i press the gas peddle i smell gas... but its getting kind of frustrating...i dont know what else to do...i dont wanna take it to a shop because i dont always trust the work thats done...plus i like working on my truck myself. so...if anyone knows wat to do PLEASE...PLEASE help!!

August 6, 2009It could be your IAC. You could take it off and just try cleaning it with some carb cleaner and see if that helps.
August 6, 2009im wondering if those injectors are holding up...2 yrs is a lot of time for stuff to sit, and plenty of time for seals and o-rings to fail. it may be worth buying a set of seal kits, pulling the injectors, cleaning them real well, and replacing the seals & o-rings on em. (and dont forget to run some fuel system cleaner thru that truck ASAP, as im sure theres plenty of gunk in the fuel system by now)
