August 12, 2008Citrus based products work great to get off break dust. The citric acid brakes it down with minimal affect to the rims. With many years of brake dust it will take a few applications and some longer dwell time.
Another option is if you have access to an ultrasonic cleaning system large enough to put the rims in that would work to. They are usually in conjuction with a mild acid and sometimes caustic bath.
August 12, 2008Will is on to something there...
There''s also a way to remove rust from parts by running electricity through it in an alkaline bath, but I can''t remember the jargon?
August 17, 2008that would prolli cost way too much... for that price he could buy a set of 20" stompers with prellie tires...
August 17, 2008Get some of the wheel cleaner from the link in my previous post. It really works!
Spray wheel with water, spray on the wheel cleaner, rub with a brush, and rinse. Brand new rims!
October 17, 2008Beleive it *or* not, I''ve had pretty good luck with a simple SOS pad. Have tried everything else and nothing worked as good *or* easy.
