April 9, 2008WOW!!! That thing is absolutely beautiful!! Sorry to hear about your Uncle though, and wish you and your family the best. But that truck is awesome! I totally agree with everyone else...dont just sell it to anyone...there will be someone that truly appreciates a truck like that! And yeah I'd have to say 351M/400 for the engine, thats how it looks just from the pictures. Good luck with selling the truck, too bad you couldnt keep it in the family some how...just a thought??
April 9, 2008WOW!!!
I would love to have that truck. I agree with everyone... don't sell it to just anyone. I would say a minimum of $10K.
It is so incredibly clean. I can't believe the frame has no rust.
Good luck with it all.

April 9, 2008I am going to say that the motor might be a 390 cu.
I would agree $ 10K would be a good number.

Life is too shsort to do nothing. Get out and enjoy life.
April 9, 2008I just got home from my Aunts house, it is definitely a 400, my mom couldnt see the sticker on the side of the valve cover. As for the front axle, we are not sure if it is a D60 or a D44...I dont know enough to tell by just looking, so I got some good pictures of everything, and I have a picture of the axle codes. I forgot my camera at home, so my mom has to email them to me.
I cant see this thing being too hard to sell...after doing quite a bit of digging around, finding some other comparable vehicles that have sold recently, talking to one appraiser, and one collector of antique fords...the concensus is that it should bring between 13 and 15k to the right buyer. But with this economy in Michigan, it may take a while to find that buyer. I'm going to list it for her on a few different sites, and ask 15k. Does this sound reasonable to everybody or am I way overshooting it?
April 9, 2008Wow man, sorry about your Uncle. That is one nice truck I must agree. If I was in a better financial situation I would buy that truck. It is absolutely beautiful. 15k might be what it is worth to the right buyer, I personally would pay 10-12k. (If I had it) But I agree with selling it to someone that will appreciate it.
In order to tell if it has a D60 or not you need to look to see if it has kingpins or balljoints. A 60 would have kingpins, a 44 would have ball joints. Also a 60's hub is 4" in diameter, a 44's is 3". If you need further clarification someone will pop in or I'll post some pics or something.
April 9, 2008Sorry to hear about the loss.
That truck looks amazing. If I had it I wouldn't hesitate to pay 10-15k for it. I've never seen one of those int hat good condition.
April 9, 2008It is a D44, Jesse (bigreen) posted the same information about the kingpin vs ball joint.
15k will be the starting piont, all reasonable offers will be considered...so if you are interested, let me know...I can set up a time and date for anybody to see the truck in person. My aunt doesnt know the first thing about it, so she handed me the keys and said "go for it".
April 9, 2008my god that truck is absolutely beautiful. i cant believe how good of shape it is. you outa keep it for yourself!! but if u do have to sell it...defeninantly any where between 10 and 15k. just beautiful!!!
