June 1, 2007Well I had this problem back in November and had Ford replace the head bolts with ARP studs. Whats the next step this getting old real quick. I've got 4" exhaust cold air intake and running a Bullydog programmer on tow haul. 41,000 miles on the truck.

June 2, 2007Hmmm.... If the heads were just done my bet is the EGR cooler is cracked....
June 2, 2007I too would be looking at the EGR cooler. They go bad almost as much as the injectors.
June 2, 2007i have an egr cooler for like 05 to 07 6.0l if your looking for one. i got it off ebay when i had problems with my truck but i didnt need it. if your interested shoot me a e-mail!
June 3, 2007We just had one go on our ambulance, wow what problems it caused!!!!! It was gone at the dealership for 3 weeks while they flushed both the cooling and oil systems and disassembeled the whole front of the rig.
June 3, 2007so i guess this isn't covered under the 100,000 mile warranty? Just where would and what would I be looking for to determine if EGR is bad? By the way thanks for all the responses.
June 3, 2007Its totally covered under the powertrain warranty, its a engine thing.
June 3, 2007i just went to the dump and on the way back in stock mode ran it up to 90 mph. temp gauge almost got to the red mark smelt coolant pulled over and a hose that appears to be a heater hose that comes from a tube coming up from maybe the EGR blew off and blew coolant all over the place. Is it safe to fill with coolant and drive maybe 8 miles to the dealship?
