SB is cool. So is the annual Wheels & Waves car show on State Street.
it's right after Fabulous Fords April 23-24
Good choice, several of my friends graduated Brooks, and I've had several tours and faculty conferences at Brooks Institute before heading elsewhere.
Back in the day, while waiting for the fall quarter to start in Colorado, I did enough parties and concerts with friends at UCSB/Isla Vista to set the unofficial record for making it through the 101 traffic light gauntlet 13 consecutive times without having to stop for one of 5-7 red lights. Creeping was legal, but I found coasting up to 1/4 mile to the first light of the timed sequence worked. A railroad X-X crossing going off at State ended my streak, it changed the highway lights to flashing red.
Crazy challenge huh? You can't do it anymore, that was before the 101 became a freeway through downtown.
It's been mentioned above about the young ladies and their beach attire. Suffice to say it's a hot enough place that Sun Glasses become deriggur. There is a sufficiently large enough population density, that even if you are deeply engrossed in stimulating conversation with one of them, invariably some supple movement will catch your eye. The sun glasses can help hide those involuntary eye movements.
you're on your own for gasps and prayers, er..um.. religous comments
