I was at the Pismo Dunes today pulling a trailer with my ATV. I got into loose sand and the rear end started digging and sinking which was rather odd because I had engaged 4WD HIGH upon entering the beach. I had a panel light on showing it was engaged so I switched to 4WD LOW. In both cases the rear wheels were spinning and sinking but the fronts were not at all! All the actuator lights are lit appropriately on the panel and you can hear the transfer case engage when placed in LOW RANGE but still nothing up front.
I was on the dunes a few weeks ago just cruising in 4WD HIGH and I remember it functioned well. That was the last time I utilized it.
I checked one possible fuse in the panel and another on the master box in the engine compartment and both are fine. Does anyone know what might be the culprit? Is the system exclusively electronic, vacuum, or both?
Any ideas before I have to drag this to the dealer?
Thanks in advance!
