February 29, 2004I have a 1997 F150 with towing package and 5.4v8. I was wondering how much weight I can put in the bed. I looked in the owners manual, but it does not give a definative answer. My label says GAWR of 3500lbs for the back and 3150lbs for the front. Really does not help too much. I am looking for realistic expectation of loading 2500lbs of pavers in the back.

February 29, 2004Nevermind. I found there is no way. My truck weighs about 4700 with a GVWR of 6250, that leaves 1550 to load in the truck, minus my 200lbs, leaves 1250lbs. Geez, I should have bought an F250
February 29, 2004I have had a ton to 2500lbs in the back, it squats but other then that no problems, wouldn't want to drive hundreds of miles like that though. If you do it make dang sure your tires are inflated at max psi.
February 29, 2004Payload capacity is only about 12-1500lbs.
