Go to your local parts store and get your self a clear sealed lamp that has serviceable bulbs, attach it to the sheet metal and run your 2 wire harness to your underhood fuse block, put a toggle switch on the fender near your fuse block and get a ground somewere handy. Just find a 12.0 volt source thats hot at all times so you dont need to leave the key on for power if you choose not to, cover the harness with coloured loom or what ever, the toggle will allow you to turn it off when your done underhood, also put a fuse in the circuit if you want extra protection. Need to feel comfortable doing dc electrical work though otherwise buy the material and have a buddy or shop do it. Factory mounted underhood lights use a serviceable bulbs and internally built mercury switch that senses hood angle change to turn the light on automatically when the hood starts to open, Ford would sell the whole kit lamp and harness etc for sure or go to wrecker yard.
