October 10, 2008ok i bought a set of clear corners off ebay which were pretty cheap. well i got what i paid for. my entire drivers side light is filled with water, and im in need of some new heads really bad. i want good ones, and really really bright. im pretty sure i can get a great set for under $300, which is kinda what im shooting for. i was thinking the clear halo lights. any other suggestions? excellent quality and extremely bright are important, the last 2 sets ive gotten have sucked and are not bright at all. thanks.

October 10, 2008Your brightness might be the bulbs and not the lights. You can get a set of Sylvania Ultra Silverstars bulbs, at any of the local auto parts stores, *or* you can buy PIAA bulbs, from many places on the internet. Those are the most commonly used and are DOT legal. Neither of those will overheat and melt you lens. The best lights in my opinion are the Lightning *or* the Harley Davidson lights, made by Ford, that are clear. A set of those will cost you $300.00 Remember that everyone has an opinion.
October 10, 2008I agree with Bennie...except for one thing.
The Regular Silverstars are DOT, but the Ultra''s are not.
But like he said as far as light output the bulb makes more of a difference than the housing. If you want more light, more bulbs are better than higher watts. What I mean, is if you only have headlights, add fogs, *or* aux driving lights. They will do more for you than increasing the wattage in your regular headlights.
October 22, 2008You might be able to find a set of used Sylvania Xenarcs. I bought mine off Ebay new-in-box several years ago for less than half of that what they retailed for. They''re DOT approved headlamp housings with HID ballasts built on and a nicely wired relay. Brightness with HID lamps is a non-issue, people actually flick their highbeams at me when the truck is at an angle to the them.
I use Sylvania Silverstars in my driving/fog lamps. I tried Ultra''s but had two sets go out in less than 2 months. AutoZone ended up exchanging for the Silverstars and a little money back.
November 1, 2008I got a set of clear headlights if you need em.
November 7, 2008Well Eric I have a set of these in my 04 F150 with 100watt hyper Blue bulbs in the high and lowbeams, pretty intense. This link is for the 97 F150. just a thought.

November 21, 2008The heads I was talking about are factory lightning headlights.if that may make a difference.
