Angie, I never said JW didn't do a great job for the way the chapter has been operating all these years when times were "GREAT" what I'm trying to convey is the operation should change due to the way it was set up because that is all that we knew and without change this is the down spiral effects of it as we sit here today. I see it, but I'm not sure if anyone else can. I have tried in the past to argue my point the best I could with a lot of resistance but hey! Who am I?
Me step up to the plate? Haha you must be joking! It's not me believe me JW is doing just fine I just think he needs more input from other folks because he can't see things from others perspective and no one was saying anything up until now. I am trying my best to make constructive suggestions here like everyone else in hopes of trying to save what we have left and instill something new to the newbies, that it will hit home and get that drive and hunger back into our leadership (At least that's what I saw when I first started). It's easy to sit back and relax but if you turn your back long enough you'll miss the boat and it's not easy "FOR ANYONE" to wait for the next one.
I am honored to be a part of this group (For the short time I will be here), hell we were the 2nd largest chapter next to Tx but at this point we might be in 30th place.
I am glad to see that at this point this discussion is on the table because this is an example of folks in motion and finally realizing an issue or issues that long needs to be addressed an talked about. I hope that no one feels I was trying to point at any one individual as at fault because no one is, what I'm saying is we need to consider something's and make some theoretical upper management operational changes! The chapter has changed, participation has changed, the times have changed, think we need a change? I'm not saying replacing anyone but if need be!
If you don't understand what I was trying to point out then you've missed it or maybe I need to rephrase my message. It's not all about more G2G's or events to attend (But that would be nice) but rather more of a members comprehension an understanding of what being a FTW member means that has never been conveyed, and that there is an operation of leaders at the helm of this club, thus more commitment and participation ensues. People that have titles, incl.... the TEN staff are commited because of that stamp, we! are just registared applicants of a site with trucks (That is the way it was set up) We don't have stamps, some of us think we do! Today we are not a car club member but in reality we are just registared applicants of a site that somehow network and we try to make friends. Now you know why it's easy to leave.
You can't save the old members that are already gone or rarely log on an lurk because they already have a conclusion of what they think about FTW unless they like what they see that is being introduced, but you can instill a new club thought process to new members that registar to allow them to realize they now are a member of a true club (That's if you want to). See the difference? You think it's work? It really dosen't seem as hard as it sounds.
Continued recruitment is absolutley ness... at this point because of the revolving door in time, otherwise it will just be us and sooner or later we will be gone (It's just a matter of time). But while we are still here it might as well be the biggest & most fun chapter like it use to be up until the ones here posting on this thread say's goodbye for good.
JW, your right it's not about venting at anyone at all and I'm sorry if I did. It's all about bringing to the table what ever it takes to get the Cali chapter moving forward again. JW, may I suggest that you call a meeting (G2G) locally for anyone that would like to sit in on brainstorming idea's then you can relay your message to the others in their territory and they can do the same? Just an idea! Regardless of what I say here on this thread you don't have to take my word for it as I might be blowing smoke up your rear it's JMO.
An Angie I understand your reaction to this whole fiasco and I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you as you were just trying to defend your hubby (I had already forseen that happening, typical response), I think you didn't understand what I was suggesting and no! I don't have all the answer but I will let you know as soon as I think of any, but for now if you want to look at me as the a-hole fine, get in line.
JMO Thank you, and good night!
