April 4, 2006I have this major whining sound after truck is running for a few seconds. The last guy that looked at it said he thought it was making too much pressure because of the blower. Can someone tell me how I can have this problem resolved? THANKS!!!
April 5, 2006not gonna make crank case pressure. If the whining is coming from the crank area then it sounds like a spun bearing
April 5, 2006What I really meant to say was that I need some way to vent the pressure coming from inside the valve covers. A hose is running from there to some kind of coupling. It came off one time, and spit oil all over the place. I know of the oil vapor catch cans that some people here are running on there blown trucks. I just wonder if those will work for relieving some of the pressure, and keep the oil from going back into the intake or blower whichever one it is going to. One catch can manufacturer recomends some sort of relief valve for using their cans on blown engines. Sorry for the mistake. Maybe someone can explain this to me now since I narrowed the problem down. THANKS!!!
April 8, 2006Check these out. I have one and they DO work. L&S oil seperators. They are maintaince free.
April 8, 2006Do you know if they will work on the trucks other than the harley's and and the L's? Mine is a 97 4.6L with the Procharger on it. THANKS!!!
April 8, 2006Not sure. Give Vince a call or send him an email with any questions. He's a really nice guy.
April 8, 2006Ok the first thing that comes to mind is how do you hear anything over the Procharger Whine? Secondly it may be your IAC Motor they are notorious for doing this. I would suggest replacing it. Next is how is the PCV and the Crankcase vent line run on your setup? Does the driver side line coming off the valve cover go into the intake hose for the blower? Also replace the PCV valve itself it may be bad.
April 9, 2006This whine is so loud at times, you can hardly hear the blower running.
April 9, 2006that dosent sound too good..like said above check the pcv and such, again i dosend sound too good if you can hear it over the s/c...maybee the spun berring thing was correct but its hard to tell over the net. Is there a high performence shop of some kind or something aroung your area that would have knowladge into your set up????? good luck
April 9, 2006bravo, I am resetting your password and will email it to you. do not know why you cannot get on. Anyway the catch cans allow you to pull vaccum in the crank case which in turn allows for a better seal from your rings.
April 12, 2006I did find one thing interesting today. If I take the hose that is coming from the drivers side valve cover off of the plastic T fitting that it runs to, the truck starts to run and idle like it is supposed to. If I put my finger over the T fitting, which is sucking air, it starts running like crap again. And BTW, the loud whining sound goes away. There is also a bunch of air coming from that hose when it is off of the T fitting. Sounds to me like there is something stopped up starting with the T fitting itself. Hook the hose up, noise returns untill it is removed. What do you guys think? THANKS!!!
