May 25, 2004I just put some new leaf springs on my 95 150. The spring on the driver's side broke. So I put on heavy duty leaf springs(5 leafs instead of four) now the back sits about 4 inches higher than it did before, so the truck no longer sits level. What are my options for getting the truck level again. A friend mentioned put a leaf spring kit on the front. is that somehting that could be done? Help!!! I really have no ideas.

May 25, 2004I'm not a pre-97 expert...but they don't have springs in front do they? I thought they were twin I-beam with coils
May 26, 2004that is true. my friend was saying i should switch it over to leaf springs. I was searching around last night maybe you know if this is a avialable. a four inch lift coil spring? that should take care of my problem right?
December 9, 2005How did those heavy duty leafs fit on your truck? I have a 95 f-150 too and i am looking to raise the truck up a little bit. Did you get the leafs from the junkyard? To level your truck you could get 2" coil spacers and possibly a heavy duty coil spring that could lift you up about 4 inches in the front all together.
December 10, 2005I ordered them from JC Whitney. If I remember right they were five leaves instead of Four. I just took the old ones out and bolted the new ones in. You will probably have to get longer u-bolts. The Stock ones will be too short.
December 10, 2005It's a lot more complicated than that. You have the TTB frontend which means if you lift the front more than about 2" you will never get it close to alignment and it'll eat your tires up quickly. You can buy spring spacers for the front coils if that's what you want. I'm sure others will chime in here shortly.
EDIT: You can lift the front more than 2" but you'll have to buy the center drop brackets for the frontend. If you do that you may as well just buy a 4" lift.
December 10, 2005well if you are going to buy a lift kit anyway, id say get a big one, maybe an 8" kit, youll find prices are relatively similar for the kits
