April 15, 2011Does anyone know how to go about recovering the center console in my 99 F250 xlt? The vinyl is cracking and the guy who owned it before me decided to draw a huge "$" sign on it and it just isn`t appealing. I was wondering what would be a quick, cheap, easy, but good, way to recover it. Any ideas?

April 18, 2011Not quite what I had in mind. Although, you did an excellent job. It looks fantastic!
Silly boys. Trucks are for girls!
April 18, 2011just trying to give you some insight in what you can do if you want to change it up some.
first thing you may want to do is disassemble your top. it should come apart with some screws that will separate the black plastic hinge plate from the plastic inner cover plate.
check to see if the inner plastic piece is cracked anywhere along the edge from when it was put together.
my original plastic inner panel was just shattered from someone driving staples through it trying to keep the cover on.
carefully pull out any staples or what have you that is holding the cover onto the plastic.
once the cover is removed you can spread it out and remove the inside foam and use it as a template to cut new material to recover the plastic frame.
at this point I`m not sure what you should use to secure the new cover to the inner plastic frame.
you do not want to shatter the inner plastic frame getting the new cover on.
then you just put all the plastic back together and reinstall it on your console.
sound real easy right?
good luck with this project!
let me know if I can help any more than this.
