October 6, 2010I have a 2003 f350 crew cab w/ 6.0l and my instrument cluster lights went out, gauges are not reading anything and my auto selection for my lights is not working. With the dor open i get a fast chime. All the fuses look good. Any ideas?

October 7, 2010Gottcha, sounds like to me that your instrument cluster has died. Because the engine still runs, I know the PCM is functioning. Since the rest of your lights are still working (you are only complaining about the loss of the instrument cluster stuff), then I know there is no issues with the lighting system. I can be something as simple as the plug for the instrument cluster has come loose and is now not making any connection (or atleast 1 side has come loose). Unfortunately, the only way to really get to the bottom of this is to remove the instrument cluster and go from there. A loose plug will normally be pretty obvious. If you don`t see a problem with the plug, then you are most likely looking at a bad instrument cluster. About the only way that I could say you can prove it bad is to stick your instrument cluster into another truck and test it that way. If it works, then you know you haven`t found the problem. Still don`t work, then you have confirmed a bad instrument cluster.

October 7, 2010the lights in the cluster work(when the lights are on) but the lights dont work if they are set in auto on selection on the switch. But other then that the truck seems to be running fine and havent lost anything else. Also did notice when using the turn signal that does show up on the instrument cluster.
