February 16, 2010i have a 1985 F150 4x4 standard trans.yesterday when i put it in reverse i heard a funny noise.i didn`t think too much about it. so i get to where i`m going i get done with that and i get back in the truck and try to start it.well it won`t do anything. the batery is fine.(lights all work ,horn everything)so now i`m under the impression that the clucth saftey switch went out in it..my question is. is there a way to bypass that switch? or should i just replace it?if there is a way to bypass it then i would try that to see if thats my problem or not. then i`ll replace it...any suggestions?

February 16, 2010the switch is up under the dash where the pedal arm goes in. i bypassed the one in my old truck when it failed.....
just cut the wires at the switch and tie them together
