January 4, 2010if he does it take a video for us. ive never seen a truck give up and walk away...this one will
January 4, 2010hope he has a few spare trannies.
January 5, 2010It could move it, but for how long? There is more to moving it.
F150`s, 4x4 or not, are not rated to tow that kind of weight. Given that up to 20% of the trailer weight is on the GN, you`re lookin` at 3000lbs on the ball in the bed. The frame, the suspension and the brakes are definitely NOT designed for that.
I think your friend is kidding himself if he thinks this is a good idea.
January 5, 2010Everyone always thinks about puling it. What about stopping it?
January 6, 2010Jason braking was on my mind too as well as the handling would be terrible.
January 7, 2010Oh and i forgot to mention its sitting in a foot of sand! And i will get video im a ford man but i dont think its gonna happen!
January 7, 2010Sounds like he`s gonna need something bigger to pull with and a lot of digging around the tires....
January 7, 2010Something bigger...... Like a CAT front loader or a dozer
January 7, 2010Does he already have the hitch installed? It would be silly to spend that for a one time deal. What I hope would be a one time deal.
January 7, 2010if he actually does this for some reason, and he makes it to the road,he is subject to a ton of fines from the state for being above the weight capacity on posted the doorjam. that is assuming they catch him before he has an accident. if he hits anyone, or crashes only himself, he will not be covered by his insurance (or at least by most insurance companies) and be left financially liable for all damages to persons or property.
his best bet to just get a stonger tow vehicle to haul that load. just my 2 cents
