December 14, 2009I have a `96 Bronco. The problem I am having is the rear window. It won`t work. I know the motor is good, because I hooked it to a battery charger and ran it up(it was stuck in the down position) Do these things have a tailgate position switch or something to control when the window can go up and down? Any help would be awesome, because this is a royal pain in the a#@!!! Hard to load tools and stuff when you can`t open the tailgate. I always have to call my buddy with his Chevy truck to haul stuff for me!! HELP!!!

December 15, 2009So I guess nobody has any ideas on how to fix this?
December 15, 2009I think that there is a switch that prevents the window from moving
when the tailgate is open. I`m afraid that I can`t help you any more than
that as I don`t have much experience with Broncos. I think you need to post this in the Bronco forum though.
December 16, 2009The latch is notorius for causing this...there are little plastic sleeves that go over the latches in the rear. If you can get the window down manually, then open the gate, you can check these...they get worn out, just replace them, and the latches will open correctly to catch the electronic release...
