July 20, 2009I've got a 98 Expedition, 5.4 4*4, manual says 7300, I'm currently pulling a 25ft TT, cabinet says just under 4800 pounds dry, add us and our crap its probably getting close to 6k of people, stuff and trailer.
Flat ground, I can start, stop, get to 50, and hold 60+ I'd consider reasonably well given the 240k on the original engine. HIlls, forget it, its a mess, got passed on a large hill today by another brand 3/4 ton diesel towing a 30foot TT. Mileage, I consider myself lucky to be getting the 8.3 I am.
So I get to digging, how can anyone explain the 09's 150 supercrews claim to pull 11,100 with the right setup? The diesel 250 equiv only lists 12,500! Leaving stopping for another discussion how in the heck can that 5.4 handle that much weight? Obviously they have come a long way since my 98's 5.4 but 4000 pounds?
Anyone actually trying pulling 11k with a new 09?
