April 27, 2009I have a fabtech lift on my f-150. When the lift was first installed they put on the Billstein Yellow shocks. I had ordered the grey metal looking shocks instead. They screwed up and said it would take a week to get the other shocks in. So they offered to remove the yellow paint and buff and polish the shocks to a very nice chrome finish. Well that was 4 years ago and the shocks have taken a beating. I have gotten shocks back to looking almost brand new, chrome finish. Is there anything that doesn''t cost a lot that I can apply to the shocks that will protect them from rusting and getting nasty again? Some type of clear coat *or* something specially made for this type of situation?
