March 16, 2009Bought a new 4gig SD card for my camera but my 2 year old HP machine won''t read it...wife''s computer is a year newer and it does read it. Is there any way to update my 2 year old HP to read these larger SD cards?
March 16, 2009perhaps a driver update for the older machine
March 16, 2009I ran an update check thru HP, they said I was up-to-date!
March 16, 2009maybe a new external usb card reader?
March 16, 2009Yeah, I KNOW I can do that....was hoping to be able to update the internal one....thanks.
March 16, 2009Calm down dude, Just figured if a driver update didnt do it, the hardware might be outdated
March 16, 2009Not excited...was really thanking you for your help...thanks again.
March 16, 2009A couple of years ago, I got an i.Connect 3 port USB hub with 14 in 1 card reader/writer as a gift. At the time I thought, "What am I gonna do with this?" But it has become one of my favorite USB add ons. I can read anyone''s camera cards, not just my own. So when relatives come over we can all see their pictures on my big screens. I think it is the way to go.
Edit: I''m sorry. I didn''t fully understand the question. My answer above therefore doesn''t make much sense in this situation.
March 17, 2009No prob man, hopefully you find a fix
May 20, 2009Is the SD card a high capacity card (SDHC)? If so, your old computer is not compatible with it.
Example (notice where it says HC)
May 20, 2009I had the same problem......bought a USB external card reader (not very expensive either) and all is good.
