March 1, 2009Ok, yesterday I reformatted my main hard drive, b/c I was having running issues, errors, slow load times, etc.
Ive been running dual monitors on my machine for almost a year, pretty much the whole time Ive had this particular system.
My specs are:
Intel Pentium D 3.0 ghz Dual Core
2 gig ram @ 667 mhz
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro
Monitors are both Acer 19" Flat Panel monitors. One is an AL1917, the other is an AL1914.
Ok, the problem Im having is I cant get it to enable the second monitor, it also doesnt want to put the system on high quality (32 bit) color, it keeps booting up in medium (16 bit).
If I go to the settings tab in Winblowz, and select the second monitor, the check box for enabling the monitor comes up, and when I hit that, and then apply, the main monitor will flash, show no signal like its changing settings, and then the monitor will come back on w/ the same settings as were present before I tried activating the second monitor.
I know that the most current drivers are being used for my video card, as I downloaded ''em from the ATI website, the current driver was released on 2/20/09.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Its really driving me nuts.
