December 9, 2008Ive narrowed my choices down to 2 chips! anyone know which one is better in performance, torque and everything else! it is either the TS performance chip, *or* edge attitude with juice!
March 9, 2009Out of those 2 TS Performance is WAY better, but DP Tuner is the best thing you can put on a 7.3. I have it on 2 trucks that I currently own.
March 25, 2009so it appears that that dp tuner has multiple setup options......how does the install go and how user friendly is it?
June 17, 2009I have a DP also on my 7.3. It is very nice, very easy to install too. I bought a 4 position chip. 1=stock, 2=tow, 60 hp, softer shift @ higher rpm, 3= economy, 80 hp, firmer shift at lower rpm, 4= race, 100 hp.
I forget the torque adds. I opted to not get the #5, 120 hp. I wish I had for every so often, but thought I''d better not to save myself. I almost never use Race 100. I always use Economy. I do used Tow when towing. I pull a 9500 lb camper sometimes. When going up a grade my EGT would not go above 1100 deg w/ my foot in it. When i would try to tow on Econo mode the power diff was very notable, but my EGT would easily go right up to 1200 and climb slowly higher up past 1300 deg.
Jody Tipton is the owner/programmer based in NC. He and his wife do it. He is very nice and helpful and will do any custom programming you want.
