The Lighting 5.4 and the Triton are not all that different. Your connecting rods are the weak link, but both engines have the same rods. If you can buy a complete take off with injectors, intake, heat exchanger etc etc you will have a realitive bolt on kit, but you will need a tune. I wold recommend a dyno tune by a pro, in fact I have a friend that tunes for a living and it make a big difference. You will also, need some better fuel pumps and keep it around 8lbs of boost.
As far as the tranny, the 4R70W will handle quite a bit and internally arent all that different from a 4R100. If you are worried about 900 in parts this would easily handle a blower. This would include an overhaul and stronger bands. A higher stall torque converter would make a big difference as well, like a 2200 to 2400 stall. Vortec and Procharger wouldnt sell centri blower kits if they all blew up. OD wont handle a load and boost, so if you are towing always take the hills with OD off. Another thing to keep in mind is what size tires and gear ratio you have. Running a 35" tire and 3.55`s requires a lot of stress on the drivetrain to get that big heavy truck moving. A 33in and 3.55 or 35in and 3.73 or 4.10s would be better.
I hope this helps.
