I have a ''63 F-100 292 V8. I''m rebuilding the starter and have found that I need a tool that no one seems to think exists. It is for a square depression in the starter wall that holds the coils to the wall. I asumed the tool would look like a Hex wrench only square, 5/16ths", but no one carries it *or* nows where to find one.Forums : Garage & Tool : Square Key Wrench (955 Views)

I think you want a "square recess bit" and you can find them on ebay made by Dewalt and it looks like Ace Hardware sells them too. All I see on ebay are #1, #2 and #3 bits and I''''''''''''''''m not sure any of them equate to 5/16"''http://tinyurl.com/5fcutn''

You can use 5/16" key stock, and make your own tool.Key stock is square, and made from fairly harden steel.Plus its cheap.Good luck.
