March 3, 2008i got the service engine soon light on and i ran the OBD II scanner on it and got the system too lean in bank 2 code... so i went ahead and replaced both oxygen sensors and erased the code.. a few weeks later my truck started throwing the same code.. any ideas of what problems this could be?

March 3, 2008Well if I remember correctly that's the right side of the motor. Could be a number of things but since it's only one side that rules out a couple things. Could be a bad/clogged injector or a vacuum leak. Maybe somebody else will have some better ideas.
March 4, 2008I have the same code on my truck, I also replaced the oxygen senser and the code is still there ? Have you figured out the problem yet?
March 4, 2008First I would like to say to CJ007 GO GORILLAS! my family lives North/East of Pits. in Mindenmines.
I have had my service engine soon light come on and at first they said it was my gas cap, so I repaced that. That worked for a few weeks then the light came on again. Then they said it was my EGR and that I should take it off and clean it out and run a fuel additive thru my tank. I did not take the EGR off put I did run the cleaner thru they recommended and knock on wood it has worked so far. I also switched to running a higher octane thru my tank.
March 4, 2008start simple, I figure if the MAF is gunked up it will think lots less air is going through then what really is, this means more 02 getting the in the engine more 02 without the engine knowing can cause lean scenarios
just a far out guess
March 5, 2008i have already cleaned off my MAF sensor, i have not tried running additives through my tank yet, i will do that and let you guys know if my problem is solved
April 29, 2008usually it is a vaccum leak if it was a injector you would feel a hesitation and you wouldn't need a light to tell you something is wrong try spraying brake or carb clean around the intake manifold with the truck running if it has a leak you will find it that way oh and for future refrence if you get this code its never the o2 sensors they're working because its telling the ecm hey something is wrong with this engine it isnt getting enough fuel or to much air
April 30, 2008mine is all fixed up with edge programmer and now im running 91 octane also
February 8, 2009mine was the air leak ,i had to get a new throttle body THEN it came back on again the SAME day and it was the O2''s so we shall see what happens(mine was in bank 1 and 2)
