September 29, 2007My buddy put one on his 05 F150 with the 5.4L and isn't very happy with it. They are telling him like 350 RWHP. I am wondering what everybody else has made out of this set up. It has the intercooler on it also. Any feedback will be great!
October 3, 2007That sounds about right to me. What was he expecting? He should be seeing a huge gain in performance over stock (+65% HP, +55% torque). My friends, and even mechanics who have driven mine are shocked by it.
I have 100,000 miles on mine with no real problems.
October 3, 2007I have a conservative 315 Hp at the wheels with mine and I started with 212 before the install. It is not fully tuned yet, it still has the stock MAF, so I am expecting around 330 at the wheels.
October 3, 2007He had the motor rebuilt new rods, pistons, crank, cam etc. With the magnaflow headers high flow cats, pretty much everything he can do and i only making 330 rwhp at 9 lbs of boost. That just doesn't sound right with the money he spent in on it.
October 4, 2007did he have the motor built with low compression, knowing he was S/C it?
and has he had it(DYNO) tuned???
October 6, 2007He put dished pitons so it did lower the compresion and it has been on the dyno 3 time I was wrong about the power though he is making 330 rwhp.
November 17, 2007More boost. If you increase the boost to 12 psi, add a 255 LPH fuel pump, 42# injectors and a 90mm MAF and have it properly tuned, you should easily see 375-380, I did.
November 18, 2007HI!... Ya somethings not right there. Those would be low #'s for a 5.4 2-valve. He has a newer 5.4 3-valve. with 40FWH.P more than the 5.4 2-valve.
I made 354RWH.P in N/A trim with only 8.0:1 compression.
December 7, 2007I love mine! I drove from Anchorage Alaska with a trailer and when it kicked in, I was keep my speed up, no problem. The cold air in Ak helped a bunch but it still rocks here in Texas!!
September 10, 2008The built engine in and of itself won''''t make more power than stock (except for head work) but it will allow him to crank up the boost with a good tune. I am with Mad, move up to 12psi and the numbers should spike up a bit. With a built block I would try to max out the P1, the engine should be able to take it. Some of the mustang guys max out the p1 around 450-500rwhp. My stock block with 12psi, cranked out 350 rwhp
September 24, 2008what total timing should he be running with this setup? Last dyno with 15 Lbs. boost was making 317RWHP on 37 inch tires and 20 inch wheels and 4:88 gears.
