March 14, 2007I'm looking on the net and there are a ton to choose from. I think proportional is the way to go. Any comments on Manufacture? 18 foot, dual axle, haulmark.

March 15, 2007Looks good. I see it for $95 dollars. Is it really plug n play? Where did you get your from?
March 16, 2007Frosty4x4, that's a good price . I see it for $124 or some have it on sale. I forgot if i got mine online or from my local speed shop. I had my connector that came with my truck (it was in the glove box ) One end has the plug that plugs in under the dash and you splice the wires on the other end to the wires on the controller as in the directions. It comes with two mounting brackets and i was able to switch back and forth from my 01 expedition to my 02 f350. If you don't have your factory connector, you'll have to get one from Ford, a friend, or when you order the controller. ( i guess you could hard wire it too)
March 16, 2007I paid $150 for mine 5 years ago and don't regret it at all!! The controller I had before cost $50 and was a POS compared to the Prodigy..
If you get the Ford pigtail with the Prodigy, then it's plug and play... Adjust the settings to suit your specific rig and it'll be the best electric braking experience you will know...
March 16, 2007There have been a few discussions on this. And yes a Prodigy is the best one you can buy!!!
March 16, 2007Frosty4x4, If you can get the Prodigy for $95, go for it. I won't add any to what others have said, other than it's all true. I don't think I'd tow with anything else.
March 16, 2007I'm curious to see how the Towcommand in my new truck will compare.
March 16, 2007I have the Tekonsha Prodigy in my 2001 F-150. If your truck came with the tow package, you should have a pigtail in your glove box. You would use this to wire in the Prodigy if you don't order the special pigtail with the controller. The controller comes with a pigtail that plugs into the controller and has wires that you could splice and connect to the Ford Pigtail.
I forgot whom I purchased the controller( I just Googled Tekonsha Prodigy), but I paid about 95$(incl Shipping) for the controller and pigtail and this was just 3 or 4 weeks before Christmas '06
I have a DVD of the product, I could sent it to you if you want.
March 16, 2007Thanks all. It's on order from "etrailer" but shipping adds a couple of bucks (Alaska). I got a dual axle 18ft trailer. A friend said it should drop the rear of the truck about 2 inches when hooked up. Does that sound right for tongue load?
March 16, 2007I need to pick up one of those for my rig one of these days.
