Sea Foam is GREAT!!!
I'm now in the process of building a nice little engine, 70 DOOE ported and shaved heads with rod guides and roller rockers. A SWEET block with some secret internals and a hot cam.
Why am I building it, you may ask???
I put Sea Foam in my last engine and it LOCKED IT UP!!! Really!
This stuff does what it said it would do, Clean. It broke up all of the crud, turned it into sludge and blocked up the oil journals in the heads. I removed the blockage 3 times but still killed the engine (which ran great I might add). It plugged the lifters and push rods and blocked the pick screen. It also scored the cylinder walls.
I did as much as anybody could do. I changed the filter (four times in a week!), removed buildup in the heads (about a hour process) and dropped the pan twice to clean out the pickup. Really fun!
If you are planning on putting it in your oil Know the history of your truck. If I had known the amount of build up in the engine I would not have added sea foam to it. My oil did not "black up" quickly when I added new oil and the 710 fill cap was clean underneath so, how can you tell how much crud is in there?
Anyway, Here is a confirmed death by SEAFOAM!
(I'll still use it in the gas and intake once a year)
My truck is not going to be painted this year because the money I had saved up in being put into a new engine.
