glad to see the site is back up...anyways i know progress has been super slow for about the past year compared to when i started on it (thanks to my bright idea to move into an apartment). i''''''''m moving back home in august and hoping to start back working on it like i used to. i haven''''''''t lost interest, just been broke, so when august comes around ill be able to sink money back into it like i used to haha.
to answer a few questions, as for engine mods, had some motor swapping going on, finally got me a 302 that i''''''''m going to keep. i''''''''ve already got some chrome shorty headers, intake manifold and carb kit for it, chrome valve covers and air cleaner all sitting in the shop. saving money for a head/cam kit next. i just got the 302 to the shop saturday morning, spent a few hours starting to tear it down, trying to get the block ready for some high temperature paint, hopefully ill have pics of all the parts i''''''''ve got laying around as well as motor progress soon
the frame is regular old box tubing, 4x3 thickness is 1/4" wall, the stuff is overkill, i think it weighs like 10 pounds per foot, but i guess coming from a previously bent frame situation, i dont want to see it happen again. and if i ever get rearended, i think the person that hits me will be sorry haha. and as far as a 1400lb payload, well i dont doubt this frame *or* suspension for its strength one bit, but i wasnt able to mount the bags quite as far back on the lower bars as i was wanting too which means it won''t be able to handle as much as i was wanting it too, but im sure the most ill ever but in the bed is maybe a canopy, folding chair, and an icechest full of beer for a car show
