How would i fix this one?
May 16, 2005Thanks,I think I'll try the clock switch. Did your cruise stop working also?
My horn works but no cruise. Also when the truck shifts into 2nd gear it's seems a bit harsh. I was told by a ford dealer that was the nature of this year truck 1995 ford f150. All other gears shift smooth. I just got the truck so not sure if it has allways shifted harsh to 2nd or not.
June 19, 2005just to bring this back my old truck did the 2\7 flash and it was the clock spring in the colum,it did it under warrenty so that was the fix,but it did come back again after another 30,000 miles.I never got it fixed the second time, with the light on your airbag won't work,so I was told.
April 21, 2006F150for6,
My F150-2000' was displaying the '27' airbag diagnostic code immediately following the replacement of my fuse box. I followed your procedure for replacing the airbag on/off switch's mini lamp and my problem was solved.
Many thanks for posting this solution because a Ford dealership would have soaked me. I was quoted $130 simply for a diagnostic in addition to the cost to fix the problem. The switch alone costs $95.
April 23, 2006I'm glad it helped! Thanks for letting me know!
May 11, 2006Many thanks to F150for6 for his fix to this problem my 1999 Ranger had the 2 flash 7 flash air bag code also. While removal of switch assembly was much less difficult than 150, only four screws held assembly in place. Total time for fix less than 30 minutes. I would also suggest using small soldier iron to prevent burning board.
Here's the link again.
May 11, 2006Thanks, OPAS 51, and welcome to the site!
June 21, 2006The 2-7 code is for burned out "passenger airbag light off". The light is burned out. The post above and the pic galery is as good a detail iv'e found. I really replied so i can find this post when im ready to fix mine. Thanks OPAS51
