January 15, 2006Just curious if anyone has ever race a hemi? I have a few friends with hemi's that say how fast they are. So I'm just wondering if anybody has beat em with a V10..

March 25, 2006I raced a dodge with my V10 and he liked to blow me outa the water or off the road in this case any ideas on powering up my V10
March 25, 2006Hemi's are faster, but hitch up a heavy load and YOU will leave him in the dust wondering what the heck happened....
March 25, 2006ALL THAT HEMI HAS IS TOP END......WHY DO YOU THINK THEY PUT THE SAME "HEMI" ENGINE IN THERE CARS AND TRUCKS.......TRY TOWING SOMETHIN WITH IT.....P.O.S.!!!!!!
May 25, 2006Yeh hemi's are quick but I can take one in a 1/4 mile. My engine is the 5.4L . Mods are Hypertec 3, airaid intake and TBS, gutted the cats and have a Magnaflow cat back exhaust. Oh and I have a supercrew f150 05.
The hemi I raced was 4 door 1500. I was beat by a magnum hemi.
Engines mater but so does weight.
May 25, 2006There are different sized hemis, so I'd guess you may beat some, and some may beat you.
May 25, 20061. you can only get the Ford V-10 in the much heavier SuperDuty series trucks... huge weight advantage for the hemi
2. the Ford V-10, even the potent newer 3 vavle per cylinder, is no race engine... although it does have plenty of power
with those two simple things in mind I'd say your SuperDuty would likely be beaten in a race by darn near every hemi equipt ram with otherwise similar gearing and tire size....
and I don't think you should even bother messing with an srt-8 jeep... right Greg?
May 25, 2006In your opinion what V10 would you put in a f150?
May 27, 2006Bah I looked up the ford V10. Not very much of an upgrade. I was thinking it would have more HP then a supercharged v8. If I was to upgrade my engine I would go with a Ford racing big block ( if it would fit)
May 28, 2006Yeah, I'm with Wrenchr. The V-10 is the wrong truck to drag race with, the right one to pull and haul with. Most mods get nominal results. I really want that kenne-bell twin-screw now.
