January 18, 2005Either close your doors all the way or turn up your stereo
January 18, 2005I guess that means you havn't a clue, but just like posting worthless replies?
January 18, 2005Well think about it...it makes sense. Why is your open door chime going off? The only reasonable explanation is that one of your doors isn't closed.
January 18, 2005Im sorry. Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post. The whole point is to be able to park my truck and open my doors and listen to the music(outside) Without hearing the door chime.
Is there a way to do this?
January 18, 2005Much better. I'm sure there is a way, but honestly I don't know how that would be done. I'm pretty sure someone knows how to do it though.
January 19, 2005Do some searching through old topics.
The method has been posted before, but I can't recall what was done. Something about disconnecting the little speaker.
January 19, 2005Do you still want the interior lights to come on when you open the door? If you don't care, then just disconnect the sensor that tells if the door is open. On my truck, I just removed it, cut the wires, taped them so they didn't short out, and put the sensor back in. As far as I can remember, this is how I did our Expedition as well. Hope that helps
January 19, 2005you can always turn the key to the on position too. that's what I do. and I didnt have to disconnect anything.
January 19, 2005take a small screwdriver and close the latch like the door is close but be really careful not to slip with the screwdriver and always remember you've done this before slamming your door......and when your done place the screwdriver back and apply alittle pressure and open the door handle
sometimes all you need to do is open the handle but sometimes it needs help opening up.
me and a friend do this when we are workin on ours

I believe that this works. The sensor thinks the door is latched. Like he said though, REMEMBER that the latch has been tripped before you close the door. It's pretty simple to do.
