June 13, 2003Well it would be nice if the price was lower but even if it was $5 for a bottle I would still use it. I've had nothing but good things since I started using it, my lifter tap has completely gone away, my MPG slightly went up, and I haven't had a single oil leak for over 50k now (knock on wood) and I've gone the extra mile and get the Mobil 1 filter everytime too.
June 13, 2003If you have a local wal-mart - the sell bulk mobile 1 10w30 for a relativley good price. It helps with the abuse I put my truck thru
June 13, 2003I sure am happy with the results I have gotten from Mobil One, I think it is worth the money.
June 14, 2003same here, I used to work at a ford shop, and I could get all the motorcraft 5w30 I wanted, but I still ran mob1 syn.
every once in a while you can find 5quart jugs of 5 and 10w30 mob1 syn for about 18.50.
an added plus to using that synthetic stuff is I'm always on the go and sometimes I might go 5 to 7000 miles with out an oil change, on the beast still runs great.
June 14, 2003One of the best things you can do!! Hell, go 6000 before you change it. Brings that price down on average. One more thing! Can't have jet engines without it!!!!!!!!
June 15, 2003I used Mobile 1 for a long time but switched to Castrol Syntec....cheaper in 5 qt containers and seems to out do Mobile 1 on wear tests.
June 15, 2003Mobil 1 here since Day 1, and now even in the new motor as well!
June 15, 2003Yes, you can definately go double or more the distance/mileage between oil changes, which brings the cost in half and saves your time as well. You can also pay more for a better oil filter or just change your Ford filter at 3,000 miles and add a little more oil. I have ran Mobil 1 in my 1970 car, since 1984. I don't rack up many miles on it, so I just change it every year, over Thanksgiving weekend. You can stock up on the Mobil 1, when it is on sale. I have found it at AutoZone and K-Mart for like $ 3.50 a quart, during specials.
June 15, 2003wel damn..thanks for the infor everyone!! Can't wait till the next oil change so I can officially say that "I run nothing but Mobile 1!!"
June 15, 2003I put 86,000 miles on my last oil change. I would only use Mobil 1 or Delvac 1. Now I did change the filter an refill it to the proper level. every 10,000 miles. I would buy it at $10 a quart. I have a 7.3 PSD
July 8, 2003170,000 miles on my Inline 6, Used Mobil one (changed every 5000 miles) used standard Fram oil filter for the last 60,000 miles and NEVER had a problem. Runs quieter and cooler and feels like it has a little more get up and go when cold. I run Castol Syntec in my 2001 Dodge cause the Mobil one doesn't agree with it, but I still swear by Mobil one. Heck it's factory fill in Corvettes, Mercedes, and Porsche... good enough for me.
